3Dsimo basic is a great gift for children older than 8 year. The device is completely harmless, and cannot cause burns when touched. That makes it an ideal present under the Christmas tree.

Pros:
– Super safe for kids (8+) with low temperature plastic so you can’t burn yourself (tip not hot)
– Doesn’t have issues with jamming like the 3doodler Create and 3doodler 2.0
– Rechargeable pen (lasts 1 hr) that is portable so it doesn’t need to be plugged in!
– Plastic takes time to harden which means its easier to mold into shapes
– Simple and easy to use + Loads plastic quickly
Cons:
– Difficult to draw up in the air or make 3 dimensional objects like you can with other 3d pens
– Plastic takes 20-35 seconds to harden depending on the temperature in the room instead of 3 seconds with pla plastic.
– Plastic filament strands are shorter and run out quickly so you’ll need to buy more
Overall this pen is great for young kids (8+) and it’s awesome because you can’t burn yourself but if you’re looking to draw up in the air or create 3d objects I would recommend other 3d pens with more options.
